Privacy policy
Your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect and how we handle it.
Last updated: October 2, 2026
1. Who we are
This website, fitnesslifestyle.online (“Fitness Lifestyle”, “we”, “us” or “our”), publishes free fitness, nutrition and lifestyle content and tools. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this website. You can contact us at any time at omar@lanternagency.net.
2. The short version
- We don’t require accounts, sign-ups or payments.
- Our BMI calculator runs entirely in your browser. The height and weight you enter are not sent to us or stored.
- We don’t sell your personal data.
- We only receive personal information from you if you choose to email us.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you give us
If you contact us by email (including via the form on our contact page, which simply opens your own email app), we receive your email address, name and anything you include in your message. We use this only to reply to you and keep a record of our correspondence.
3.2 Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, referring website and the date and time of your visit. These server logs are used to keep the website secure, diagnose technical problems and understand overall traffic. They are retained only for as long as necessary for those purposes.
3.3 Calculator inputs
Values you enter into our BMI / height-weight calculator are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. They are never transmitted to our servers and disappear when you leave or refresh the page.
4. How and why we use information (legal bases)
- To operate, secure and improve the website — based on our legitimate interests in running a safe, functional site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To respond to your messages — based on our legitimate interests in answering enquiries, or to take steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
- To comply with legal obligations — where the law requires us to keep or disclose information (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not currently set any advertising or tracking cookies. Our website works fully without cookies. If we introduce analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent first through a cookie banner.
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
6. Third-party services
- Hosting: our website is hosted by Hostinger, which processes server log data on our behalf as a data processor.
- Google Fonts: we load typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser loads these fonts, it connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. Please see Google’s privacy policy for more information.
- Google Search Console: we may use this service to understand how our site appears in Google Search. It provides aggregated search data and does not place cookies on our site.
- Email: messages you send us are processed by our email provider.
7. External links
Our articles may link to other websites, including partner or related sites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites. Please read their privacy policies when you visit them.
8. Data sharing and international transfers
We share personal data only with the service providers listed above, where necessary to run the website, or where required by law. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
9. How long we keep data
Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards (normally no longer than 24 months), unless a longer period is required by law. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s standard retention periods.
10. Your rights
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another region with similar laws, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- restrict or object to our processing of your data;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office — UODO).
To exercise any of these rights, email omar@lanternagency.net. We will respond within one month.
11. Children
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We use HTTPS encryption across the site and take reasonable steps to protect the information we handle. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
